Memories

I have recently open a Facebook page and I am enjoying it a lot. It is amazing to me how we can contact friends and family in so many ways now, worldwide. It is good to be able to share little tidbits of loved one's lives using Facebook, including pictures and videos. Isn't the internet great? I would never have dreamed of the internet 20 years ago. But, I may have been the first in my crowd and family who bought a computer. They are fascinating.

When I was growing up, a small TV (which didn't always work) for my Dad's Friday night fights was about the only modern item we had in our modest home with a 10-member family. That was about 1952. We didn't need a lot of friends, though we had them, because with eight kids in the house, you can always have a good time! And there was always something to do to help out: I remember helping my Mother wash clothes on a scrub-board, before she got a wringer washer, and they sure do skin up your knuckles! My parents did not drive and so we walked everywhere. How many people do that today? I remember walking miles to go to the grocery with my Mother, and as a pre- and teenager to go to the library because I was a bookworm then, as today. I remember being four years and wanting the ability to read so strongly. When I started school at five years old, I was so happy....finally I could learn to read and write! I used to go into my Mother's cupboard to find cans and boxes to read, if nothing else surfaced which was readable.:)I am thankful for the modern conveniences of today.

Just think of all the good things which are available to read today, for almost anyone! I am finishing my pastor's book, "God Had A Son Before Mary Did". Oh, my goodness!! It is really wonderful. It helps us understand that God had a Son Who was with Him before the Creation of the worlds, and laughed with Him, and that the Son is the actual Creator for His Father, and returned to be at the right hand of His Father after His time here on Earth. I never would (nor probably could have) understood these truths without the precious holy Ghost. That gives me hope that I will be able to be with Jesus one day! Now, that is exciting.

Memories, memories! What wonders they can be. But, the best memories I have are the ones after I received the holy Ghost on 2/20/94. It has been almost 15 years and they have been so good. I have been tried and tested, chastened and corrected and REALLY LOVED! God chastens those whom He loves. Sometimes it hurts, more than when we were chastened by our earthly parents, but we must go through the old person dying so the new one in God can live. Thank You, God!

It is great to have this little place to write some of my memories and thoughts. Maybe my children and grandchildren and family will enjoy reading this one day.

I will be back later with some scriptures from Pastor John's book.

For anyone visiting here today? Happy Valentine's Day!!
